Amish Heaters

Amish heaters are also known as Amish fireplaces. The units as sold to the American public today are not made by the Amish. Rather, the Amish supposedly build a wooden frame into which the electric heating unit is set. Since Amish religious traditions prohibit most uses of electricity, they would not be manufacturing electric fireplaces.

They will, apparently, form an odd symbiotic relationship with those who do make those fireplaces. Amish heaters, if they are truly Amish, are a child of two worlds. The Amish dedication to craftsmanship and tradition supposedly goes into the wooden frame, while the company that produces the heating unit supplies the modern convenience.
